Katie needs to tone it down a little. Part of me hopes she is assigning Clare that story because she secretly cares and wants to push Clare into dealing with her Eli grief head-on. Perhaps she thinks her emotions will also make for better articles? Then Clare can have another friend besides Alli (whose character is looking useless and quite waddle-y lately) I have high hopes for Katie. Then again, maybe she is just trying to test Clare and is actually going to just be an uber bitch like Holly J in her first season(s). Either way, her personality is strong and I like her so far.
Speaking of Holly J, her character really did a 360. She’s a nice girl. I hope they give her another major story before she graduates; she is seeming kind of dull lately. “That’s a crazy dance there, crazylegs” was so cute, I kind of fell in love with Holly J after that. Overall, she’s a great friend and I’ve enjoyed her progression over the years.
I am already feeling secondhand embarrassment every time Imogen speaks. I’m just about to go and watch Wednesday’s recorded episode, so we will see. Not feeling the toddler pigtails. The acting from her promos seems like her scenes are going to be very awkward, ala Jenna, “I have a reputation for stealing boyfriends. I wonder what my character will do next.”
Jake, eh. Need to know more. I wasn’t impressed with his arrival episode and how they just thrust him into the Eclare situation.
Eli… just ridiculous. The whole Clare/Jake/Eli thing seems very Twilight to me. I get the need for angsty emo characters on the show, but nothing will ever be as real as Ellie.
I am glad Fiona isn’t graduating right away. Degrassi can’t afford to kick their token femme lesbian off the show quite yet (13-24 male audience, people). Why doesn’t Fiona have any friends at Degrassi? She used to throw huge parties with tons of people when her character was first introduced. Either way, she’s genuine.
Anya. Ugh. You disappoint me. I understand “opposites attract” and that MAYBE deep down, Owen means well. But you are my favorite character, and it was sad to see you let the guy who has been verbally harassing you actually get a chance. Honestly, I am pissed they wrote Dr. Cris out, that could of been really steamy and Degrassi could of done tons of episodes centered around a relationship of that dynamic, which we’ve not seen since Paige and that substitute teacher. Anyway, my hopes that producers would possibly follow you guys to college for a season seems like it isn’t happening, and I wish you well. I think Katie might take your place as my fav.
Sav needs a new story. That Keke Palmer shit was stupid. You’ve grown into a fine young man. Your sister needs less mascara. Alli seems to be on the sidelines lately and I think that’s where I want her.
Conner/Connor.. quit stealing panties, you’re going to get caught and I will feel really uncomfortable IRL when it happens.
Props to Degrassi for tackling LGBT issues. I really thought Dave was going to say something really horrible instead of apologizing on the air. You covered the issue really well. However, I cannot think of Adam as anybody besides the little sister from Life With Derek. I think Jordan is pretty good in the role though, and he “passes”. Hoping that they will go really far with his story and cover more of the darker experiences that real trans teens face.

I’m bored with Wesley/Wesely, but I like Hannah. I don’t care for Bianca, I feel developing her stereotype any further is like beating a dead horse. Drew is such a babyface and it is strange to remember that he is Adam’s brother. They don’t look alike or really even interact as much as I’d like them to I guess. If I knew a gang member was after my son, I’d move across the country or something.. not just stand there and say, “there’s nothing more we can do” and scare the shit while Drew is writhing in his paranoia. Why didn’t Adam just go to his bro to learn how a guy pees standing up? Even if Adam is trying to learn the ropes, staring at Dave was weird.
I don’t like KC, his acting seems so lifeless. His mom is funny to look at. She has a meth face, and I cannot believe that she gets acting gigs. Jenna is now somewhat likeable. I wish Clare would talk about the baby situation and IDK, give her opinion on it or something. Ever since Eli came along, it is like Clare and KC never existed. It would be nice if characters would actually comment on each others lives and intermingle more.
I’m surprised they didn’t give Sadie star billing, since they were so gracious with giving it to Marisol and Katie.
It is weird to think that characters like Marisol, Sadie, and Hannah are eventually going to be major roles in the upcoming seasons. Blah. I miss Manny and Craig. I even miss Ashley a little.
Degrassi needs a fat chick to round it out.
